About the Old Hornseyans' Association
(The Association for old scholars
of The Hornsey County Grammar School situated in Pemberton Road,
Harringay, London N4)
The Old Hornseyans
Association was started in 1908, or as it was called then "The
Hornsey County Old Scholars'Association. When the first intake
of pupils were ending their school career, the original idea was
for the "Old Boys" to meet for the purpose of playing
football. All these years later and over 50 years since the Hornsey
County closed as a Grammar School, we are still going strong with
a membership of nearly 280. We have four reunions every year in
Bournemouth, Haywards Heath, Hertfordshire and London. These are
very enjoyable events which give us the chance to meet and talk
over old times and often be reminded of things we have long forgotten.
Old friendships are renewed and new friendships are made.
In addition,
we issue a magazine twice a year in February and August and this
is sent out all over the world bringing up-to-date news and exchanging
anecdotes.
Please look
through the site for details of events, names of members and do
not hesitate to contact us with any information of interest or
if you are not a member yet - join now and be a new face. This
is one easy step into the past while enjoying the present.
